After a sluggish start to the ballgame, it was all Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (15-3, 5-0 Sun Belt) on Saturday night with a big 82-48 win over the UL Monroe Warhawks.
The Cajuns went 0-for 11 from the field until a returning JaKeenan Gant hit a jumper with 14:25 left made it 4-2. That quickly turned into a 15-3 run and they didn’t look back and headed into the break with a 33-15 lead.
The Cajuns started the second half with the hot hand, nailing 12 of their first 14 shots to get out to a 47-25 lead. The three-point shooting was big for the Cajuns in the second half, making 11-of-14 from beyond the arc. The final nail was put in courtesy of a three-pointer from Jonathan Stove with 5:13 left in the ballgame.
The Cajuns will head to UT Arlington (11-7, 2-3 Sun Belt) with tipoff set for 7:15 PM
