It’s certainly not how the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns envisioned their season ending on Friday night with an 11-1 loss to Texas State in seven innings.
How It Happened
The Cajuns drew first blood with Kole McKinnon leading off the third inning with a no-doubter out to left field. Texas State quickly responded though with an RBI single from Luke Sherley to even things up.
Jalen Hubbard got the Bobcats out in front, just getting his hand on home plate in the fourth. Later in the inning, Dylan Paul made it 3-1 with an RBI single up the middle.
Texas State proceeded to kick the door down in the bottom of the fifth with a seven-run inning, capped off by a two-out, two-run double down the left field line by Sherley.
Nick Lee dropped to 3-7 on the season allowing seven runs off of eight hits, walked three and struck out two in four and a third of an inning of work.
Big Number: 1
One is the loneliest number and McKinnon was alone on an island for the Cajuns being the only hit they had on the evening.
Player of the Game: Luke Sherley
The Bobcats got a lot of help from the offense, but Sherley was fantastic, going three-of-four with three RBIs in the win.
