It was a fairly easy win for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (14-3, 4-0 Sun Belt) on Saturday night as they went wire-to-wire against Coastal Carolina (7-10, 1-3 Sun Belt) with an 81-64 win.
The Cajuns got out in front with an early 12-5 run, but the Chanticleers made it interesting with 8:38 left in the first half. However, it remained all Cajuns in the first half and took a 43-29 lead into the locker room thanks to a big three-pointer as time expired from Malik Marquetti.
The Cajuns second half was much of the same when they really began to pull away thanks to another solid three from Marquetti. However, the Cajuns shooting went cold from the field late, but were able to put the game out of reach with four straight free throws from Marcus Stroman.
The Cajuns will have some time off on January 13th when they take on UL Monroe (7-8, 1-3 Sun Belt) at the Cajundome with tipoff set for 7 pm.
