The 2018-19 class for the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns men’s basketball keeps on growing. Just last week, the Cajuns announced that Louisiana natives RJ Gladney and Kobe Julien both signed their letters of intent.
You can now add Trajan Wesley out of Cy Falls in Houston, Texas and Kristian Lafayette from the TaylorMade Academy with both players signing their National Letters of Intent, head coach Bob Marlin announced on Wednesday.
Wesley was first-team All-State as a junior last season with 11.0 points per game and led his team the Class 6A UIL Texas State title.
“Trajan is a true, up-tempo guard with great leadership qualities,” Marlin said in a release from the university. “He has really good vision and prides himself on both ends of the floor. Trajan comes from a winning background at a Class 6A state championship program under head coach Richard Flores, and his toughness and winning mentality will be infectious to our team. We are excited to add Trajan to our program.”
Lafayette, a Detroit native is currently putting up 15 points per game at the TaylorMade Academy. He previously played with Hazel Park
“Kristian is a very skilled player who can shoot, pass and handle the ball exceptionally well for someone his size,” Marlin said. “As he adds weight and increases his strength, he will develop into a player in this league who can impact the game on both ends of the court.”
The Cajuns will return to action on Friday when they take on Savannah State (0-2) at the Cajundome with tipoff set for 4 pm.
