The first week where the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (11-8) have five games over the course of six days hasn’t gone the way they’ve wanted to as they dropped both of their midweek games, with the latest being against Tulane (8-13), despite a late rally by the Cajuns.
The Green Wave got rolling from the outset with Jarret DeHart getting them on the board first with an RBI single to take an early 1-0 lead. Tulane extended their lead with three more runs in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead.
The Cajuns did manage to get on the board in the bottom of the first after Steven Sensley was walked with the bases loaded.
The Green Wave made it 6-1 in the third inning with a pair of sac flies from Sal Gozzo and Tyler Heinrichs.
Joe Robbins began the rally with a two run blast to left field in the bottom of the seventh to make it 6-3. Brenn Conrad made it a two-run deficit in the eighth with an RBI single, but the Cajuns went down in order in the 9th to give Tulane their third straight win.
Jevin Huval dropped to 0-1 on the year allowing one earned run, the other three were unearned off of three hits. Huval also had one strikeout in his one inning of work.
The Cajuns will hit the road this weekend for a three-game series against the Troy Trojans (12-8, 2-1 Sun Belt) starting on Friday with first pitch set for 6 pm.
