With only a couple of weeks until the start of the 2018 softball season, the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns will head into the year ranked in both of the major national polls.
The Ragin Cajuns are ranked 22nd in the preseason USA Today/NFCA poll and 24th in the preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball poll which was released on Tuesday.
This is the 15th straight season that the Cajuns have been ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Poll and have been ranked in every preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball poll since it was created in 2006.
The Cajuns will start the 2018 season against Samford at Lamson Park on February 8th with first pitch set for 5 pm. This kicks off the Mardi Gras Classic and starts a 15-game homestand for the Cajuns that runs through February 25th.
