After losing to the Little Rock Trojans, Bryce Washington said that you’d see a whole different team. The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns mopped the floor with the Texas State Bobcats on Friday afternoon from the outset and came away with an 80-55 win.
After a couple of early lead changes, the Cajuns imposed their will and got out to a 21-7 lead after a Cedric Russell three-pointer with 8:48 left in the first half. From that point on, they were able to get out to as much as a 22-point lead at the break thanks to Justin Miller scoring 11 of his 14 points in the first half.
The second half was more of the same after the Bobcats got the lead down to 17 early on. The Cajuns put the finishing touches on the ballgame with solid efficiency from beyond the arc, shooting 6-of-13. PJ Hardy put the final nail in the Bobcats coffin with a layup to put the Cajuns up by 30 with 3:05 left in regulation.
The Cajuns will take on the winner of UT Arlington-Appalachian State on Saturday with tipoff set for 11:30 am.
