As day two of the MLB Draft got started, the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns didn’t have to wait long to see one of their own get drafted in Hogan Harris, getting picked in the third round 85th overall by the Oakland Athletics.
Harris is now the third-highest player drafted in the Tony Robichaux era, joining Blake Trahan (84th – 2015) and Darrin Babineaux (50th – 1995). He recorded a 5-2 record his junior season and a 2.62 ERA despite missing over a month due to an oblique injury that was suffered during his first start against the Texas Longhorns.
