Louisiana linebacker Chauncey Manac and wide receiver Dalen Cambre were awarded Sun Belt Player of the Week honors Monday afternoon after their performances against Liberty.
Manac earned his defensive honor after tying the single-game school sack record with four against the Liberty Flames. Cambre’s Special Team’s honor came from his scoop-and-score off a fumbled punt in the game.
Manac’s four sacks were huge to go along with six tackles and four and a half tackles-for-loss.
The redshirt senior is just one of four players in the nation and is one of two in the Sun Belt Conference to record four sacks in a single game this season. Manac is tied 17th in the nation with eight and a half on the year.
Cambre’s touchdown in last Saturday’s contest was the first of his career. With 9:06 left in the first half, Cambre went around the line and was in great position as he snatched the ball out the air as it bounced off the turf and took it 26 yards to the house.
