The LSU Tigers (18-7, 4-2 SEC) heading into Sunday’s matchup against Florida (16-9, 2-4 SEC) hadn’t looked like the same team, unable to get things done with runners in scoring position.
That narrative changed in the top of the eighth as the Tigers got six runs, all home runs to avoid the series sweep with a 10-6 victory.
Josh Smith started things off with a two run blast to right field to get within two runs of Florida. Beau Jordan followed it up with a two-run shot of his own, this time to left field.
Even Cole Freeman found paydirt with a two-run shot to left field to give the Tigers an 8-6 lead.
Nick Bush got his first win in relief allowing one run in his one inning of work.
The Tigers will return to the Box on Tuesday night to take on Tulane (9-15) with first pitch set for 6:30 pm.
