LSU Beats Louisiana Tech 6-3

Posted by clintdomingue on March 8, 2016 in Latest News

The LSU Tigers did not look past the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (8-4) on Tuesday night as they took it to them with a 6-3 win.

The Tigers got on the board first with a pair of RBI doubles in the bottom of the second from Greg Deichmann and O’Neal Lochridge to go up 2-0.

The Tigers poured it on in the bottom of the third and Beau Jordan started things off with a double to left field that scored Kramer Robertson. Jordan Romero followed things up with a groundout that led to Jake Fraley getting home for the score to make it 4-0. The scoring continued later in the inning with Mike Papierski hitting an RBI double.

But the Bulldogs weren’t about to go away that easily. In the top of the fourth they got on the board with an RBI single from Lunceford. The Bulldogs walked one in later that inning when Washam was hit by a pitch from Parker Bugg with the bases loaded.

The Tigers continued to put a gap between themselves and the Bulldogs in the bottom of the fifth with Beau Jordan hitting a sac fly that scored Fraley.

Spring got the last run for both teams in the top of the seventh with a sac fly that scored Stark.

Austin Bain got his first win of the year in relief, allowing one run off of three hits and striking out four. Caleb Gilbert got his first save of the year throwing one shutout inning and striking out one.

The Tigers (10-2) will stay inside the Box with a three-game series against Ball state with first pitch for game one set for 7 pm.
