LSU Beats UNO Privateers 9-4

Posted by clintdomingue on March 16, 2016 in Latest News

The LSU Tigers struck early and often on Wednesday night on the way to a convincing 9-4 win over the UNO Privateers.

The Privateers struck first with Dakota Dean blasting one to left field to go up 1-0 after half an inning of play.

The Tigers responded with an RBI single from Antoine Duplantis to knot things up. Boyer gave the Privateers the lead in the top of the second with an RBI double to right field.

The Tigers started to bust things open in the bottom of the fifth with a two run single up the middle by Jordan Romero and was followed up with an RBI single by Chris Reid to get the lead.

The scoring didn’t stop there as Duplantis continued to rake, hitting a triple in the bottom of the sixth. But it was Bryce Jordan who put it away for the Tigers with a solo shot that connected with the scoreboard.

It was a Jack Wholestaff approach for the midweek matchup and Austin Bain got the win to improve to 2-0 with one shutout inning and striking out one batter.

The Tigers (13-3) will open up SEC play against Alabama (10-5) with first pitch on Friday set for 7 pm.
