All it took was an hour and 54 minutes for LSU (21-13) to come away with a 2-0 win on Tuesday night over Louisiana Tech (24-11).
How It Happened
After five quick innings, the Tigers finally got on the board in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a pair of RBI singles from two of the best hitters on the team in Zach Watson and Antoine Duplantis.
This was the lone offensive output that led to runs on the evening and was enough to give AJ Labas his fourth win of the year, allowing only two hits in six innings of work.
Big Number: Three
When you think of a performance like LSU had on Tuesday, you’d think the strikeout numbers would be high. However, there were only three strikeouts on the evening with all of them coming from the bullpen. It’s a weird statistic, but it wound up working out pretty well for them
Player of the Game: AJ Labas
The starting pitcher only allowed two hits and faced one above the minimum on Tuesday night to help the Tigers get the win. In a game that was far from an offensive onslaught, Labas definitely deserves some credit.
