LSU Gets Housed in Series Finale Against Texas

Posted by clintdomingue on February 25, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

LSU (4-3) kept the brooms at home on Sunday afternoon with the Texas Longhorns (4-3) imposing their will offensively, coming away with an 11-1 win over the Tigers.

After a slow start for both teams, the Longhorns busted things wide open in the third when David Hamilton hit an RBI double out to right field to get them on the board. Zach Zubia quickly made it 4-0 later in the inning with a three-run double out to centerfield.

Ryan Reynolds really started to pour it on in the fifth with a two-run single up the middle, making it 7-0. Kody Clemens put the final nail in LSU’s hopes of a sweep with an RBI single out to left field in the seventh, capping off another four-run inning.

Todd Peterson dropped to 0-2 on the season allowing five runs off of seven hits, walked two, and struck out two in four innings of work.

LSU will host Grambling (4-4) on Tuesday night with first pitch set for 6 pm.
