The LSU Tigers were given everything that Grambling could give them on Wednesday night, but the Tigers were able to hang on to win 14-11.
The Tigers wasted no time, getting four runs in the bottom of the first and following it up with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second.
Grambling responded in the top of the third with a two run shot by Drane. However, LSU got three more on the board in both the bottom of the third and fourth innings.
Grambling was able to begin a rally in the late innings, scoring 8 of their 11 runs in the eighth and ninth innings, but it was too little too late.
Austin Bain improved to 3-0 on the year throwing two shutout innings and striking out six batters on the night.
The Tigers (22-11) will hit the road with an SEC series against Missouri with first pitch on Friday set for 6 pm.
