The second day of the MLB Draft is in the books and when it comes to some of the future Tigers, LSU baseball lost another one in Christian Cairo.
The shortstop out of Florida was selected in the fourth round on Tuesday afternoon just as he was on campus looking at scheduling classes according to head coach Paul Mainieri. However, as he was meeting with LSU, he received a phone call from the Cleveland Indians and the money was just too good for the son of former MLB star Miguel Cairo to pass up.
It obviously threw Mainieri for a loop, but a few hours later he received some good news with Cade Doughty announcing he will join the baseball program for next season.
Officially an LSU Tiger!! Can’t wait to play in front of the best fans in the country! 😈🐯 #geauxtigers

Doughty will likely be fighting for the starting shortstop position for the 2020 season and will be able to play alongside his brother Braden.
