LSU didn’t show any signs of a hangover on Saturday. In fact, they put together a complete game and left Fayetteville with the Golden Boot, winning 38-10.
After forcing a three and out, the Tigers marched down the field on a nine play drive that ended with Leonard Fournette waltzing into the endzone to take an early 7-0 lead.
Late in the first quarter, Donnie Alexander picked off Austin Allen that gave the Tigers the ball in the redzone. That would end with another touchdown from Fournette to extend the lead early in the second quarter. The scoring would continue after forcing another three and out and this time it would be Derrius Guice taking it in for the touchdown from three yards out.
The Razorbacks would finally get on the board on the next drive with a 44-yard pass from Austin Allen to Dominique Reed to make it 21-7.
Arkansas would force a fumble from Fournette early in the third quarter and get three points off the board off the leg of Adam McFain to cut the lead to 11 points. LSU would respond on the very next drive Fournette would get his third touchdown of the night and make it an 18 point lead.
After a Delahoussaye field goal, Dwayne Thomas intercepted Allen deep in LSU territory. Only two plays later, Guice would have a 96-yard run to put the game out of reach.
LSU (6-3, 4-2 SEC) will return to Death Valley on Saturday to take on Florida (7-2, 5-2 SEC) with kickoff set for 12 pm.
