The LSU Tigers (24-11, 8-5 SEC) continue to roll after their epic comeback last weekend in Fayetteville.
While it seemed like LSU’s hitting had issues heading into last weekend’s series, those doubts were quickly dashed on Thursday night as they dominated the Ole Miss Rebels (21-13, 6-7 SEC) by the score of 15-2.
The Tigers got straight to business in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from Jordan Romero. Antoine Duplantis increased their lead to 2-0 in the second inning with an RBI double to right center field.
The Tigers really began to pour it on in the fifth with four runs in the frame capped off by an RBI single from Greg Deichmann. He wasn’t done though as the next time he came to the plate he blasted one to right center field for a grand slam to cap off a six run inning for the Tigers.
Alex Lange improved to 4-4 on the season with seven shutout innings. The junior allowed only three hits, walked one, and struck out seven on the evening.
The Tigers will look to clinch the series on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
