The LSU Tigers baseball team had three players recognized by Baseball America as All-Americans.
Pitchers Luke Holman and Griffin Herring, along with infielder Tommy White were all announced as members of the team. Herring made the second team while Holman and White made the third team.
Holman, an Alabama transfer who played his first season for the Tigers this year, was a standout in the starting rotation. The right-hander originally from Pennsylvania was an All-SEC selection as well. He had a 2.75 ERA to go along with a 9-4 record. In 16 starts, Holman totaled 127 strikeouts.
Herring enjoyed a breakout season for LSU this year. The Texas native had a 1.79 ERA to go along with six saves. He was one of the main options out of Jay Johnson’s bullpen. He struck out 67 batters on the year and made one start in addition to 20 relief appearances.
White enjoyed his second season with the Tigers after being apart of the national championship team in his first year after transferring from NC State. This year, he led the team with a .330 average, also adding 24 home runs and 70 RBIs. The Florida native ranks number eight all time in the NCAA Division I in career home runs with 75.
The Tigers finished the year with a 43-23 overall record. They made the regional final in Chapel Hill, falling to the Tar Heels to end the season.
