The LSU (9-9, 1-6 SEC) may have had the worst performances all season but still had several chances to turn things around. It was a typical night on the hardwood for the Tigers and it led to their fifth straight loss, this time to Arkansas (14-4, 4-2 SEC).
It was a slow start for the Tigers as they went 1-for-11 to start the game, five of those shots came from one possession. It led to the Razorbacks getting out to a 15-4 lead with 13:14 left in the first half. They would continue to pour it on the Tigers throughout the rest of the first half and headed into halftime with a double digit lead.
The second half started fairly similar to how the first started with Arkansas extending their lead to as much as 16 points with 14:06 left in the game. LSU was able to get it down to six points with two and a half to go, but it was just another case of too little too late for LSU.
LSU will try and avoid a sixth straight loss when they return to the PMAC and host the Florida Gators (14-5, 4-2 SEC) with tipoff set for 8 pm.
By the Numbers:
28: LSU’s free-throw percentage in the second half. They only made 4 shots from the charity stripe in the second half after shooting 68 percent from the free throw line in the first.
44: Number of rebounds that Arkansas had in the win. They also had 29 defensive boards, 10 more than LSU had.
5: Number of Razorbacks that ended up with double digits. All but one member of the starting five ended their night with more than 10 points due to getting into foul trouble
