It’s not often that you see the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns get shut down offensively. Since the month of April, they’ve been nearly untouchable.
The LSU Tigers may have figured out what Alex Stewart does as they were able to get her out of the game early and that was enough to force an all-or-nothing game on Monday with a 6-1 victory.
One of the things that hurt LSU on Saturday was being unable to get anything going with runners in scoring position. That changed quickly when Amber Serret got the Tigers on the board with a sac bunt in the top of the second.
Savannah Jaquish extended the lead out to 3-0 in the top of the third with a two-run shot to left center field. Serret got the Tigers even further out in front in the top of the fourth with an RBI single
She helped put the final nail in the proverbial coffin in the sixth with a solo shot to left field. Later in the inning, Emily Griggs put the final run on the board with an RBI single.
Carley Hoover got her 13th win of the season allowing one run off five hits and struck out six in a complete game effort.
The Cajuns and Tigers will face off on Monday with first pitch slated for 1:04 pm
