Josh Smith became the first LSU Tiger to come off the board on Monday night, getting selected by the New York Yankees at 67th overall. According to MLB’s Draft Tracker, the pick value is approximately $976,700.
The Baton Rouge native started all but one game in his junior season at shortstop after missing almost his entire sophomore season with a back injury.
Smith has a .346 batting average with nine home runs and 41 RBIs this season and was a key cog during LSU’s run in Hoover, Alabama for the SEC Tournament.
