Brian Mills brought the aluminum on Sunday afternoon, and it helped the Cajuns win the deciding game three against Georgia Southern (18-14, 7-8 SBC) 13-9.
Stefan Trosclair got things going for the Cajuns in the top of the first with a sac fly that allowed Mills to score. Steven Sensley got another one across later in the inning after grounding out to second base to make it 2-0.
The Eagles got within one in the bottom half of the inning thanks to an error by the Cajuns that allowed Baker to score.
But Mills pushed the Cajuns further ahead in the top of the second with a two run shot. The scoring continued when Kyle Clement and Trosclair came across on an error by Georgia Southern to make it 6-1.
But Georgia Southern cut away at the lead with a run in the bottom of the third, coming off of a double play. The Eagles continued in the bottom of the fourth pushing three across to cut the lead down to one again. Nick Thurman got another run across for the Cajuns in the top of the sixth to make it a two run.
Georgia Southern was able to get the lead in the bottom of the sixth after pushing four across with two two-run singles by Cleveland and Thomas, respectively.
Mills put the Cajuns back in front with a grand slam. Brenn Conrad put the nail in the coffin with a two run double in the top of the 9th.
Dylan Moore came on in relief yet again and improved to 4-1 on the year throwing three and two-thirds shutout innings. Moore allowed only one hit and struck out six of the 12 batters he faced.
The Cajuns (21-11, 10-5) return to Tigue on Tuesday night for a matchup against Tulane with first pitch set for 6 pm.
