The New Orleans Saints in the first year of the post-Drew Brees era will have five primetime games highlight their 2021 schedule, which was released on Wednesday night.
The Saints will open their season at home for the fourth consecutive season, when they host the Packers with kickoff at 3:25. This will be the first time the Saints will open the season against Green Bay since the 2011 season.
The Saints will then play in two consecutive road games to wrap up the month of September. New Orleans will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to play at the Carolina Panthers on the 19th and then play the New England Patriots on the 26th, with both games kicking off at 12 pm.
The month of October will begin with a home game against the New York Giants on the 3rd and then a quick road trip against the Washington Football Team, and both contests will start at noon. The second straight season, the Saints will have week six off, lining up perfectly with Jazzfest 2021.
After the bye, the Saints will have their first primetime matchup, playing at the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, and then will host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Halloween at 3:25 pm.
New Orleans will then host the Atlanta Falcons on November 7th followed by a quick road trip to the Tennessee Titans, on November 14th. The road trip continues with a matchup against the Eagles on November 21st at noon. The Saints return home on Thanksgiving night, November 25th for a matchup against the Buffalo Bills at 7:20 pm.
The month of December begins with another Thursday night matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on December 2nd, followed by a pair of road games against the New York Jets on December 12th at 12 pm followed by Tampa Bay on Sunday Night Football for the second straight season on the 19th.
The Saints will then wrap up the inaugural 17-game schedule with a Monday Night Football matchup against the Miami Dolphins on the 27th, host the Panthers January 2nd, 2022 and then an trip to Atlanta on the 9th.
