About 24 hours after letting go of veteran tight end Benjamin Watson, the Saints may have already found his replacement.
The Saints have signed former Indianapolis Colts Tight End Coby Fleener to a 5 year contract on Wednesday afternoon. The contract will be worth $36 million according to Ian Rapoport.
The decision may have been made easier after the Colts chose to re-sign Dwayne Allen.
Fleener, who only had 491 yards with the Colts last season, will undoubtedly be a big target for Drew Brees this season alongside wideouts like Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead. This will also be the first time that Fleener hasn’t played on the same team as Andrew Luck since his college days when the two played at Stanford.
