For the 34th straight season, the NFL’s supplemental draft has come and gone without the involvement of the New Orleans Saints.
Only one player, Clemson tackle Isaiah Battle, was selected overall, the first player taken in the supplemental draft since the Cleveland Browns selected Josh Gordon in 2012.
New Orleans had little need for a player at Battle’s position after the Saints took Stanford’s Andrus Peat with the No. 13 pick in the first round in April.
And the Saints have only made one supplemental draft pick in their history, using a first-round pick on quarterback Dave Wilson in 1981.
