The New Orleans Saints are finalizing a deal to sign Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston, according to Yahoo’s senior NFL reporter Charles Robinson.
The deal is reported to be a one-year contract and Robinson says “sources told Yahoo Sports that Winston’s signing won’t guarantee him the backup job behind starter Drew Brees. Instead, the best case scenario for Winston may ultimately be competing for the No. 2 quarterback spot with Taysom Hill.”

ESPN’s NFL Insider Adam Schefter has also reported the deal is being finalized.
The deal is not currently finalized.
Former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady recently signed with Tampa Bay this offseason, while now former Saints backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater signed a three-year deal to join the Carolina Panthers.
