The New Orleans Saints were dominated on both sides of the ball by Kirk Cousins and the Redskins on the way to their second straight loss before the bye week.
The Redskins got things going with a 10 play drive that took six minutes off the clock and was capped off with Kirk Cousins connecting with tight end Josh Reed to go up 7-0.
The Saints responded quickly with a huge Mark Ingram run that gave the Saints the ball at the 4-yard line and found paydirt with Brandin Cooks catching a short pass from Brees to tie things up.
But the Redskins continued to pick apart the Saints secondary with Cousins finding Jamison Crowder.
It began to look similar to the Saints matchup against the Giants from two weeks ago with Brees connecting again with Cooks on a beautiful 60-yard pass to tie things up again. But Cousins kept rolling, this time connecting with the running back Jones for a 78-yard pass to take the lead back.
The Redskins continued to extend their lead with three straight field goals by former Saint Dustin Hopkins. Reed and Cousins connected again late in the third to put the game away, but it was Dashon Goldson who put the nail in the coffin with a pick six.
The Saints (4-6) have a bye week before taking on the lowly Houston Texans (3-5) in the Superdome on November 29th with kickoff set for 12 pm.
