Marshon Lattimore has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week.
The New Orleans Saints cornerback posted a career-high six passes defensed in the team’s 33-22 road win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday. Lattimore’s six passes defensed are tied for the second-highest total since the 1992 season.
Lattimore was also named Pro Football Focus’ Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
For the season, Lattimore has recorded 16 tackles, 9 passes defensed (which ranks second in the NFL) and one interception.
In his five-year career, the 2017 first-round draft pick has recorded 246 tackles, 64 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 4 fumble recoveries.
Lattimore is also the only Saints cornerback in franchise history to earn three Pro Bowl selections.
The New Orleans Saints (3-2, 0-1 NFC SOUTH) is on bye this week and will return to action on Monday, Oct. 25th at the Seattle Seahawks.
