The New Orleans Saints are making a quarterback change. The rookie Tyler Shough will start against the Los Angeles Rams and moving forward, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The move comes after Shough was inserted into the second half of the Saints’ last game against the Buccaneers in a 23-3 defeat.
Spencer Rattler, the second-year pro out of South Carolina, had previously started all eight games for New Orleans. Rattler threw for 1,586 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions. He was efficient and did not turn the football over early in the season, but had struggled in his last two games.
For Shough, the second round pick from Louisville, he will be making his first career start on Sunday.
The Saints face the Rams on Sunday afternoon at 3:05 PM.
