The New Orleans Saints run game just took a big hit for the start of the 2018 season as they’ll be without their top rusher in Mark Ingram.
The Alabama product has been suspended for the first four games of the 2018 season after violating the NFL’s policy on PEDs. Ingram will not be on the field for the Saints matchups against Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Atlanta, and the New York Giants.
Ingram led the program with 1,124 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns in 2017 and was a big part of the Saints success along with Alvin Kamara, who will become the bellcow for the first four games.
It’s not an ideal look, but New Orleans have a bevy of running backs on the roster already before looking at free agency. On the roster right now is Trey Edmunds, Jonathan Williams, Daniel Lasco, and the 2018 sixth-round pick in Boston Scott out of Louisiana Tech.
