LAFAYETTE — The Louisiana-Lafayette football program aims to make its recruiting camps productive, and it came out of last week’s sessions with four new commitments for its 2016 recruiting class.
Mitchell, an athlete out of Magnolia West High in Texas, announced his decision on Twitter late Saturday. The 5-foot-11 Mitchell played both ways last season and showed a knack for making plays. He snagged seven touchdown receptions while racking up more than 100 tackles to go with four interceptions and four fumble recoveries.
He was joined in committing by fellow Texan Holmes, a 6-2 inside linebacker who made 187 tackles as a junior at Newton High last season.
Baker is a 6-3 offensive lineman out of McAdory High in Alabama. Boudreaux rounded out a successful weekend for the Cajuns; the linebacker from New Orleans’ Holy Cross tallied 80 tackles last season and picked the Cajuns over an offer from Louisiana-Monroe.
