The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns sure do like softball players named Lexie.
Last weekend was a big weekend for Lexie Comeaux as she hit six home runs and 15 RBIs during the Ragin Cajuns Invitational this past weekend. That was more than enough for the sophomore catcher to be one of two Cajuns to be honored with player and pitcher of the week honors by the Sun Belt.
Comeaux ended the weekend with eight of her nine hits being for extra bases and an astounding 1.933 slugging percentage.
Alex Stewart was named Sun Belt player of the week after throwing nine and a third scoreless innings during the invitational. The senior allowed only two hits and struck out nine in the three games she played in, all of them were victories.
The Cajuns were supposed to play Baylor on Tuesday, but due to inclement weather, the game was pushed back to Thursday with first pitch set for 4 pm.
