The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns softball squad keeps winning on the field, and racking up weekly honors from the Sun Belt Conference. In fact, this week they swept the weekly honors doled out by the conference with Alissa Dalton and Summer Ellyson being named player and pitcher of the week, respectively.
This is Dalton’s second honor this season after a great weekend against App State, finishing 6-for-6 with two doubles, a home run, and six RBIs in the doubleheader last Saturday.
This is Ellyson’s fifth award from the Sun Belt definitely earned it, striking out 19 batters and didn’t allow an earned run over 14 innings in the aforementioned doubleheader.
The Cajuns will return to Yvette Girouard Field at Lamson Park for a Sun Belt series with Georgia State starting on Thursday, April 18th.
