Louisiana Ragin Cajuns softball’s 2019 season was phenomenal despite the early exit in the NCAA Tournament and that was justified with eight straight Top 20 finish in the polls.
Louisiana (52-6, 25-0 Sun Belt) was ranked at No. 18 in the final edition of the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 17 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll.
This is the 12 straight season that the Cajuns have finished the season in the final rankings by both major polls and 27th overall finish dating back to 1990.
The Cajuns softball program’s 2019 season saw them roll through the Sun Belt Conference with a 25-0 overall record and dominated the Sun Belt Tournament to earn the program’s 21st consecutive tournament bid and advanced to the Championship Game of the regional round for the 12th straight year.
It’s also the 21st straight season that Louisiana surpassed the 40-win plateau and the first 50-win campaign since 2012.
