Louisiana men’s basketball star Jordan Brown earned All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team honors Monday afternoon while redshirt-freshman Kobe Julien picked up third-team honors.
Brown led the Ragin’ Cajuns and ranked eighth in the conference with 15.0 points per game. Brown also led the Ragin’ Cajuns and ranked third in the Sun Belt with 8.8 rebounds per contest.
Brown joined the Louisiana program in the offseason after spending the past two seasons at Nevada and Arizona.
Brown’s father Dion, who earned All-Southlance Conference honors in 1982, lettered for the Ragin’ Cajuns from 1980-84 and finished his career as one of the top scorers and rebounders in school history.
Julien meanwhile led Louisiana’s guards and ranked 15th in the Sun Belt with 12.7 points per game.
Julien scored 20-plus points five times during the season and totaled 15-plus points in six straight games down the final stretch of the regular season and was named as the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Feb. 22.
After finishing the season with a 13-14 overall record and an 8-8 mark in SBC play, Louisiana will open the 2022 Sun Belt Tournament against UT Arlington at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Pensacola, Fla.
