The Houston Astros returned to action today for Game Two of the American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees. Alex Bregman launched a three-run homer for the Astros in the third inning and that would prove to be the difference as the Astros took down New York 3-2

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Alex Bregman came up to the plate in the bottom of the third with two Astros on base when he unloaded on a fastball into the Crawford Boxes to make it 3-0 Houston early. The home run gave Bregman the most postseason home runs by a third baseman in history.

The Yankees came back in the fourth off of an error by Astros pitcher Framber Valdez that put runners at second and third with nobody out. Then, the next two batters drove in runs to cut the lead to 3-2.

Ryan Pressley came in for the ninth to secure the second consecutive win for the Astros.

BIG NUMBER: 14

The three-run home run for Bregman in the third inning was already the 14th home run of Bregman’s postseason career and gave him the most postseason homers for a third baseman.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Alex Bregman

Bregman went 2-4 with a three-run home run in the contest. The former LSU star has been a crucial piece for the Astros in this postseason run.

UP NEXT: The Astros will travel to the Bronx for Games 3-5 with the New York Yankees, with Game 3 taking place Saturday at 4:07 p.m.
