Two days after falling short in Game 7 of the ALCS, Dusty Baker is hanging it up.

The Astros skipper has called it a career after 26 seasons as a manager, according to an interview he did with USA Today. The three-time Manager of the Year winner has managed five different MLB teams, including the San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, and the Houston Astros. During his four seasons in Houston, he reached the ALCS each year, winning two pennants and capturing his first and only World Series title in 2022.

For his career, Baker is currently 7th on the all-time wins list as a manager with 2,183. As a player, Baker captured a World Series title in 1981 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was also the NLCS MVP, a Gold Glove winner, and a Silver Slugger winner in that season.

Baker has been involved with professional baseball for close to 60 years now and says he would like to stay in the game in some capacity.

The Houston Astros are expected to hold a news conference Thursday to make the official announcement.
