Kobe Julien has once again been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week, making him the first player to win it in back-to-back weeks since the 2021-2022 season.
Julien had a special week for the Cajuns, averaging 24 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He was efficient from the field, combining to shoot 17-for-26 from the field and 6-of-8 from the three-point line.
He started the week with 19 points in just 19 minutes against Loyola-New Orleans, going 8-for-10 from the field. He also showed off his defensive ability, grabbing three steals and blocking a shot in the 78-54 win.
Then on Thursday, the Baton Rouge native had 29 points (22 in the 2nd half) against Samford and was just one point shy of tying his career high. He went 8-9 from the free-throw line and had six rebounds in the game.
Julien is the scoring leader in the conference at 19.5 points a game as well as 159 total points while being outside the Top 25 in minutes played. The Madison Prep product is shooting 49% from the field (8th), 87% from the free-throw line (3rd), and 45% from downtown, which would all be top 10 marks in the league if Julien had one more made three-pointer to qualify that stat.
The Cajuns will return to action this Saturday when they travel to Ruston to take on Louisiana Tech.
