Sometimes, you have to take advantage when an opportunity presents itself.
Houston Astros ace Framber Valdez was scratched due to elbow soreness and it appears that he will miss some time. Because of that, former Louisiana Ragin Cajuns star and Astros top pitching prospect Spencer Arrighetti has been elevated to the MLB roster and will make his MLB debut Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals.
Arrighetti was selected in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft from Matt Deggs’ program after a great season in the ace spot for Louisiana. Since joining the Astros organization, he has risen up the ranks and looks to be an end-of-rotation type arm. His fastball currently sits in the low to mid-90s.
You will be able to hear Arrighetti’s debut Wednesday on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette and 104.1 Lake Charles with pregame beginning at 6:10 p.m.
