The Louisana Ragin’ Cajuns dynamic baseball duo and Kyle DeBarge and LP Langevin continued to add to their postseason accolades on Friday as Baseball America released its College All-American teams for the 2024 season.

DeBarge earned first-team All-America notice at shortstop by the publication. This is the first time a Ragin’ Cajun has been recognized and the first, first-team pick since Wyatt Marks in 2017. Langevin earned third-team honors.

DeBarge was the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and was named to his fourth All-American squad after earning first-team honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), second-team honors by Perfect Game and third-team honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).

The junior from Lake Charles has a .355 batting average in 2024 while setting school records in both home runs with 21 and total bases with 179. DeBarge also drove in 72 runs, which was good for the most by a Ragin’ Cajun since Greg Blevins when he recorded 75 in 1990 and started in all 62 games for Louisiana.

Debarge was rated as the nation’s number-one shortstop by D1Baseball and finished second in the Sun Belt Conference in slugging percentage with .699, an OPS of 1.117, had 21 home runs and recorded 91 hits on 256 at-bats.

In Sun Belt Conference play, DeBarge went yard 13 times and recorded 45 RBI in Sun Belt Conference play. That put him in company with Jace Conrad (2014) and Blake Trahan (2015) in earning SBC Player of the Year honors, while becoming the first player in school history to break the 20-home run mark.

Langevin earned third-team All-American honors from the NCBWA and ABCA as he posted a 6-1 record on the mound in his first season in a Louisiana uniform while leading the team with seven saves. The right-hander posted a 3.73 ERA in 23 appearances on the mound and struck out 106 batters in 62.2 innings of work.

The Quebec City, Quebec native became the school’s sixth player to earn SBC Pitcher of the Year honors joining Scott Dohmann (2000), Austin Faught (2005), Hunter Moody (2006), Carson Baranik (2014), Gunner Leger (2017) and Colten Schmidt (2018).

Langevin is rated as the fifth-best relief pitcher by D1Baseball and finished as the SBC leader in strikeouts, fewest hits allowed with 40 and the fewest runs allowed with 27. Langevin was tied for third in saves among SBC pitchers, seventh in ERA, and tied for ninth in wins.
