The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns had three players named to the Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, the Senior Bowl announced on Wednesday.
KC Ossai, AJ Gillie, and Jordan Lawson were among the 859 players named to the list.
The Senior Bowl is one of the premier all-star games for college football participants. It showcases NFL Draft hopefuls during a week-long process that includes practices and the eventual game. Plenty of NFL scouts show up in Mobile, Alabama to have a look at some of the best college football players from the prior season.
Ossai is a linebacker from Texas who led the Louisiana defense a year ago. He is a Preseason All-SBC selection after a campaign that included a team-high 95 tackles to go along with four and a half tackles for loss. He also represented the Cajuns at Sun Belt Football Media Days in July and is a member of the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watch List.
Gillie is an offensive guard from Natchitoches, Louisiana. He is also a Preseason All-SBC selection and represented the team alongside Ossai at SBC Media Days. A year ago, Gillie added 13 more starts to a very experienced career on the offensive line. He was a Third Team All-SBC selection a year ago, and looks to anchor the Cajuns’ o-line in 2024.
Lawson, a Mississippi native, plays on the defensive line for Louisiana. Last season, he tallied eight and a half tackles for loss along with seven sacks. He played in all 13 games a year ago, and once again figures to factor in with the Cajuns’ starting d-line.
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns begin their 2024 campaign at home against the Grambling Tigers on Saturday, August 31st at 7:00 PM inside Cajun Field.
