Alex Okafor to Re-Sign with New Orleans Saints

Posted by clintdomingue on March 16, 2018 in Blogs, Latest News

The New Orleans Saints were able to get a lot of mileage out of defensive end Alex Okafor last season before an Achilles injury sidelined him. The Saints are expecting to get even more out of him in 2018.

Okafor has signed a two-year deal with the Saints worth up to $10 million according to Ian Rapoport. The 27-year old defensive end is still recovering from a torn Achilles, but is still expected to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Prior to being a part of the Saints in 2017,he spent his first four years with the Arizona Cardinals. After losing his starting role there, he was able to prove his worth to New Orleans by racking up 43 total tackles, five for loss, 4.5 sacks, four defended passes, and two forced fumbles.

The re-signing of Okafor shores up a front seven that looks to be one of the top in the league in 2018.
