Houston Astros’ star Jose Altuve has officially been named a brand ambassador for Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc (Daikin).
The role will have Altuve support Daikin’s community initiatives and also help promote their products. Educational programs as well as youth sports development initiatives in underserved communities are part of the scope of the partnership.
Daikin is the naming-rights partner of the Astros, and they took over that spot before this season began. Formerly Minute Maid Park, the Astros now play their home games inside Daikin Park in downtown Houston.
“Houston is home. I’ve spent my whole career here and I appreciate the opportunity to partner with an organization like Daikin. Participating in a partnership that supports this city, our community and Astros fans means a lot to me,” Altuve said about the announcement.
Altuve is one of the most beloved and accomplished Astros of all-time. He is a nine-time All-Star, MVP, and two-time World Series Champion. In addition to his on-field recognitions, he has been a mainstay in the Houston community and often plays a role in community efforts.
You can listen to the Houston Astros all season long on ESPN 103.7 Lafayette 104.1 Lake Charles – Southwest Louisiana’s Sports Station.
