One of the most crucial parts of the Astros success has been manager AJ Hinch. Thursday saw his contract extended to a four-year deal through the 2022 season.
“We’re thrilled to have AJ in the fold for multiple years,” said Astros GM Jeff Luhnow, “AJ has played a key role in our team success and is one of the most effective managers in baseball. He is aligned with the vision of our front office, has made a great connection with our players, and has earned the respect of everyone in the clubhouse. Looking ahead, our goal is to win multiple championships. AJ is unquestionably the best manager to help us achieve this goal.”
This will provide even more stability for the Astros organization as Luhnow was signed to a five-year extension through 2023. The terms of Hinch’s contract have not been disclosed per the club’s policy.
