Another Houston Astro made the MLB All-Star team.
On Wednesday, Major League Baseball announced that Astros third baseman Isaac Paredes was added to the 2025 American League All-Star Team. Paredes became the fourth player to be named to this year’s All-Star team for Houston.
This marks the second time that Paredes has been named an All-Star. The first time he earned a spot to be a part of the All-Star game was in 2024 as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Paredes has been one of the top third basemen in the Major Leagues in 2025. He currently leads all AL third basemen in home runs (19) and RBI (49) and is tied for first in OPS (.843) with Cleveland’s Jose Ramirez. Defensively, Paredes leads all AL third basemen in total chances (195) and assists (141) while ranking third in fielding percentage (.974).
Paredes isn’t the only Astros player to be a part of the big weekend festivities; he’ll join teammates RHP Hunter Brown, SS Jeremy Peña, and LHP Josh Hader at next week’s All-Star Game. Brown and Pena earned All-Star honors for the first time, while Hader was named an All-Star for the sixth time.
The honor also extended the Houston Astros’ streak of having at least three All-Star selections. The last time the Stros missed that mark was the 2016 season. Their 37 All-Star selections since 2017 are more than any other AL club in that span.
The 2025 Midsummer Classic is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15, at Truist Park in Atlanta, GA.
