All the focus in sports right now is on training camp starting for the NFL and college football later this week, but the Sun Belt Conference gave us a glimpse at the world of basketball on Tuesday, revealing their conference schedule for the 2019-20 season.
The notable change to the schedule is the return to a 20-game conference slate for the first time since the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns will open up the season on the road on December 18th against the Arkansas State Red Wolves and follow that up with a matchup against the Trojans of Little Rock.
The Cajuns then return home to ring in the new year at the Cajundome with a pair of games against South Alabama and Troy on January 2nd and the 4th, respectively.
The Jan. 6 game against App State will be the first of three straight on the road for the Ragin’ Cajuns, who will also travel to face GSU (Jan. 9) and Georgia Southern (Jan. 11). Louisiana will wrap up the month of January in the friendly confines against Texas State (Jan. 18) and ULM (Jan. 25) then hit the road to take on UT Arlington on January 30th.
The month of February features three home games against Georgia State (Feb. 6) before facing Georgia Southern (Feb. 8), Arkansas State (Feb. 27) before wrapping up the season against Coastal Carolina on March 3rd.
