The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns and the national champion LSU Tigers will both take part in the six-team Astros Foundation College Classic on March 1-4, 2024 at Minute Maid Park.
Formerly named the Shriner’s College Classic, both the Tigers and the Cajuns will play three games in a weekend slate that features Texas State, Vanderbilt, Texas, Houston, LSU, and Louisiana.
Louisiana, who won 41 games and appeared in the Coral Gables Regional in 2023, will open their weekend at Minute Maid with Vanderbilt on March 1 with a 3:05 p.m. first pitch. Then, the Cajuns and LSU will battle for the first time in an out-of-state venue on Saturday night, March 2 with a 7:05 first pitch. Matt Degg’s team will then close the tournament against Houston on Sunday, March 3rd with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
LSU, meanwhile, will be the third defending National Champion to play in the Astros Foundation College Classic. The Tigers, fresh off their seventh national championship, will open the tournament with the Texas Longhorns in a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday before battling the Cajuns on Saturday night. The, Jay Johnson’s team will wrap up their weekend against Texas State with a 3:05 p.m. first pitch.
Single day tickets and tournament packages for the 2024 classic will go on sale at a later date.
