Week 2 has wrapped up and Week 3 is coming up quickly. Here are some players that I love for this week that you should start and some that I hate and will have a rough day on the job on Sunday.
LOVE
Daniel Jones – Danny Dimes has been putting up top 5 fantasy QB numbers through the first two weeks. His next matchup is against the Atlanta Falcons defense, a defense that has given up on average 34 points per game.
Sterling Shepard – Two Giants back-to-back, and neither of them are Saquon? It’s wild to see at first, but Shepard has quietly been a top 10 fantasy receiver and Jones’ favorite pass catching target.
Leonard Fournette – Fournette’s role in this offense feels more secure than Ronald Jones’ role does. With Aaron Donald and this Rams defensive line looking to get to the quarterback, Tom Brady will be looking to get the ball out quick and dump it off to his playmakers. I can see a solid six or seven targets finding their way to Fournette.
Broncos D/ST – Denver has faced young quarterbacks to start and season and continue the trend by playing Zach Wilson and the Jets. The New England Patriots defense picked the rookie off four times. Denver has a good secondary like the Patriots and will look to get a few takeaways from Wilson who’s struggled in his first starts.
Donovan Peoples-Jones – Jarvis Landry has been put on IR and Odell Beckham Jr. is still out as well. Peoples-Jones and Anthony Schwartz become the WR1 and WR2 in the offense as we’ve seen Baker Mayfield and Peoples-Jones connect on big touchdowns in the past.
HATE
Clyde Edwards-Helaire – Andy Reid doesn’t seem very interested in giving Clyde the ball, or running the ball with how much the Chiefs offense is passing. Edwards-Helaire didn’t get a single target in last Sunday’s contest against the Ravens and was subbed out for the goal line carry that Darrel Williams scored on.
Darrell Henderson – Henderson is going into this week questionable with a rib injury. He’ll more likely than not play, but he’s going up against a Tampa Bay Defense who’ve got a really good front seven that have been shutting down opposing running backs since last season.
Marquez Callaway – Quez has been disappointing to start the season, only recording three catches for 22 yards in a Saints offense where he is supposed to be Jameis’ favorite target besides Alvin Kamara. Going up against this Patriots defense in Foxborough spells for another quiet game from Callaway.
Kenny Golladay – Even with the favorable matchup against the Falcons, I still don’t like Golladay. Daniel Jones’ focus has been going towards Shepard as previously mentioned and is more of the fourth option on the team with Jones and Darius Slayton having more chemistry together and being together longer. Golladay hasn’t put up the number we expected him to have coming into the season.
Eric Ebron – Ebron’s had only one catch in the opener at Buffalo and then didn’t even record a catch versus the Raiders. Rookie Tight End Pat Freiermuth has even out targeted him. This Bengals matchup is pretty tough with Cincinnati only allowing the fourth-fewest points to Tight Ends this season.
