It’s all over social media. More people are posting their vaccine photos online and some of these people getting the COVID shot are now younger than before. It’s because our state has opened up the eligibility.
You can get vaccinated if you suffer from a medical condition. Keep in mind, if you are eligible, you must make an appointment at the facility before arriving.

Louisiana is now in the next phase of the COVID vaccination. This means a wider range of people is now allowed to get the vaccine. This includes individuals who are 16 and older with a high-risk medical condition.
The previous eligible included:
- Persons 65 and older
- Ambulatory and outpatient providers and staff
- professional home care providers
- health-related support personnel, students, and staff
- law enforcement and other first responders
- K-12 school and daycare personnel
- all pregnant persons
- anyone 55-64 with a high-risk medical condition
- health care workers
- long term care facilities
- first responders serving as vaccinators
